Three Great Comedic Hearts

On February 12, 2000, on the eve of the publication of his final comic strip, Charles M. Schulz passed away. But his PEANUTS will be with us forever. For fifty years, Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus, and Lucy shared wisdom and wit with hundreds of millions of readers in 2600 newspapers in 21 languages worldwide. I feel very fortunate to have met Mr. Schulz at his studio to interview him for our LAUGHING MATTERS magazine

Then, on October 30, 2000, Steve Allen passed away at the age of 78. This modern-day Renaissance man was a true inspiration for all of us. He was the personification of humor-and-creativity in action! His legacy of learning and laughing will be with us forever. We were pleased to honor Steve Allen with the National Humor Treasure Award at our 1993 annual conference. We were also fortunate to feature him in our LAUGHING MATTERS magazine.

Finally, on December 23, 2000, the world mourned the passing of the Clown Prince of Music. Victor Borge passed away 91+ years young. He was the first person to receive the National Humor Treasure Award at our annual conference in 1991. His wonderful music and humor traveled the world... and showed that humor is indeed an international language.

Choose one of the four LAUGHING MATTERS interviews from the left, each of which capture a little bit of what these men were about.
